Our Incubator
The North Queensland Small Business Development Centre is a light industrial business incubator and is located at 184-188 Vickers Road North, Condon in the city of Townsville.
How accessible is the NQSBDC?
The Small Business Development Centre is within 10 kilometres of the Central Business District of Townsville and is ideally situated to service the existing and future needs of the city and surrounding region.
What is the incubator space like?
The centre commenced trading in January 1996. The centre currently has 31 light industrial workspaces each 52 square metres in area and some have 6×12 square metre air-conditioned office-style workspaces.
What businesses are eligible?
Applications are accepted from businesses in the initial start-up stage to those striving to get production and sales at a profitable level. Businesses within the centre must operate on a fulltime basis. When a business becomes capable of competing in the open market without the additional support and assistance, efforts should be made to find a permanent location in the region.
What else do I need to know?
Occupancy is offered under a month-by-month license to business intenders. Entry and exit costs and formalities are minimal.
A full-time CEO, office manager and full and part-time business field officers are available in the training centre to provide business support to tenants and local business operators.
What other office resources do I have access to?
The centre aims to provide affordable workspace and useful services including the use of the training facility and access to printers, a photocopier, fax, book binder, folding machine and laminator.
