TORGAS – The Apprentice and Trainee Specialists

TORGAS is a not-for-profit organisation operating as a commercial business providing apprentices and trainees to businesses throughout Queensland. With an enviable record of achievement as “The Apprentice and Trainee Specialists”, TORGAS has built strong partnerships with industry to provide quality employment opportunities in apprenticeships and traineeships.

TORGAS commenced in Townsville in 1984 with one staff member and 15 apprentices. From our humble beginnings 25 years ago we have expanded across Queensland and are now guiding our third generation of apprentices and trainees toward successful careers. We are one of the largest industry-backed employers of apprentices and trainees in Queensland offering employment in a diverse range of industries from automotive, engineering, electrical, aviation, construction, printing, horticulture, retail, hospitality, optical, health, community services, business administration and more.

TORGAS is governed by a board of seven community minded Directors, who have a wide range of skills and expertise and, who volunteer their time free of charge, to ensure the continuing success of TORGAS.

TORGAS makes significant contribution to the community by providing quality apprentices and trainees, not only to big business but also to small specialised operations unable to provide full apprenticeship programmes of their own.
